The Family<親情保衛戰/Qinqing Baowei Zhan>
I’ve actually seen this drama early last year. I scavenged to find this because as you may know, I’m a big Dafa fan. So I’m just glad that it’s going to have another airing in another station. That’s how it works it c-drama land. Sometimes it airs right after filming but other times it takes years (literally! see Da Mo Yao). Different TV stations may acquire rights of airing the same drama as well.
The story revolves around Zhe zhen (Ivy Chen) who dreams of one day becoming a top designer. In the process she meets her a guy Hao Wei (CJM) who is engaged to her idol/(unknown)sister. The two fell in love but she found out that she is dying and needs a bone marrow transplant. Because of this she found out that the father whom she knew is not her biological father after all but the chairman of the company she’s working for played by actor Tong Chun Chung. It’s a typical family drama full of twists and sometimes predictable turns. But overall it was pretty good.

Su man’s confession to Song yi ep32 of Best Time<最美的时光/Zui Mei De Shi Guang>
So let me tell you about the flood of emotions I felt watching this drama. Yeah, I know it’s kinda late to write about this because this was so last year.But I did just finish watching it(finally) last night. So bear with me.
Initially, I thought it was something light, good and in the range of what I would normally enjoy so I watched it. About 20 episodes later, I stopped because of my crazy schedule. Then picked it up again last week. But going into episode 30 I was in a range of emotions from anger, to disgust and to pain which was almost physical. To those who have seen the first 31 eps would understand what I’m saying. I admire Su Man for her guts to go after her dream, which is Song Yi. She did everything she could so that he would know of her existence and be apart of his world.
I understand why a girl would do this. I mean I can totally relate. When a woman truly loves, of course we would want them to know that we exist on the same planet! and do what we can (sometimes do crazy stuff) to win over the guy. It may be pathetic to some, but it’s true.
Honestly, I had sleepless nights because of this drama. I was so bent on finishing it but alas I’m only human and needs rest too. So I tossed and turned cursing Song Yi to high heavens and cursed Su Man for being stupid. And then came this episode where she finally admitted who she really is to Song Yi. Damn, it was so painful to watch. I thought it would be pointless but somehow I knew that SY loves her too. He is just so wrapped up in his guilt that he can’t see clearly. I was so happy by the end of the episode like I was Su Man herself. I was practically grinning from ear to ear. On the other hand I also felt bad for Lu Li Cheng. But that’s another matter and maybe another post.
