Would you believe that I watched this long wuxia without English subs?! Crazy, I know. So, I barely understood what the characters were saying. I’d say I understood about 25% of what they were talking about. I guess I should brush up more on my Chinese lexicon. Frankly speaking, I watched this drama purely because of Ivy Chen who plays Sun Die in this drama. She’s very pretty and she acted quite well but I don’t understand why she had to cry a lot. As a matter of fact, most of the characters here shed tears. This is the first time I’ve seen so much crying in a wuxia so I was quite baffled.
Anyway, there were still some good parts in this drama. Like Baron Chen (Meng Xing hun) for instance, although they could have done something about that fugly hair! I thought Victor Huang (Lu Xiang Chuan) was a pretty decent villain although at first I was not too sure if he were in fact the villain. They humanized the villains too much that I wasn’t sure which ones are the bad guys. Jordan He (Yi Xiang) was also hot and not a bad actor. One thing they could have done better though was the pacing. It was pretty slow.
